You are here: Shapes and Sounds Part 3 > Lesson 23 - r > 2.5 Writing Sentences 2b
Writing Sentences 2b will be introducing two more spelling choices for the long vowel /a/. The sentences we will be writing explore the different choices we have introduced.
Our sentences build into a story called ‘Lost in a Floating Dream’. The video has different screens so that you can practise one set of words at a time. Listen to each sentence, or part of a sentence, as many times as you need. Either rewind or pause the video and ask someone else to say the sentence to you. It can take a long time to build up a memory for spoken words, so please do not be concerned about needing to listen several times.
The punctuation that is needed for each sentence will be discussed as the sentence is demonstrated.
You could also ask someone else to read the sentences in the story to you as an additional dictation exercise. Perhaps you would like to use a keyboard for your extra practice.
If you are using a keyboard for your extra practice, you might like to make some changes to the story. Enjoy creating your edited story.
