Welcome to the lesson on suffixing.  The lesson will explore suffix -s.

Use this step-by-step guide to learn what a suffix is and then focus on the two reasons why we add suffix –s to the end of words.

Use the videos in the subsection if you would like to go over each of the reasons again using spoken and written examples.

Then try stretching words so that you can hear all of the sounds. 

If your child attends a school within Glasgow City Council, ask for the Getting Started Words Lists 2 & 3 and practice stretching more words.  List 3 has made up, or non-words so that you can practise all the letter sound links we have been learning.
