You are here: Shapes and Sounds Part 3 > lesson 29 - qu > 3.2 and 3.3 Writing Sentences 3a and 3b
Work along with the video which explores different spelling choices for words that are then put into sentences.
Our new words build into a story called ‘A Future Fixture’.
You may prefer to write just one sentence at a time and take a note of the time on the film. This will let you know exactly where to go in the film to start the next sentence.
This short story is called ‘Are You Sure?’ and includes words with an unusual spelling for the sounds we hear.
Listen to each sentence, or part of a sentence, as many times as you need. Either rewind, or pause the video and ask someone else to say the sentence to you. It can take a long time to build up a memory of spoken words, so please do not be concerned about needing to listen several times. When you have finished each sentence, you can also illustrate your story with pictures that suit you.
The punctuation and the suffixes that are needed for each sentence will be discussed as the sentence is demonstrated.
Remember that you can use texting or typing as a different way of practising your reading and writing. You can also include your own ideas in the story.
