2.2 Writing Sentences 2
You are here: Shapes and Sounds Part 2 > Lesson 11 - b and oo > 2.2 Writing Sentences 2

Writing sentences with words that use both long and short vowel sounds, and oo.

Our sentences build into a story called ‘Babs’s Bobbins’.  Listen to each sentence, or part of a sentence, as many times as you need.  Either rewind, or pause the video and ask someone else to say the sentence to you.  It can take a long time to build up a memory for spoken words, so please do not be concerned about needing to listen several times.

The punctuation that is needed for each sentence will be discussed as the sentence is demonstrated.  Now that we have introduced apostrophe ‘s, the two ways of adding it to the end of a name that ends is s will be discussed.

Additional ways of practising the words in your story are suggested in the video.  You could also ask someone else to read the sentences in the story to you as an additional dictation exercise.  Perhaps you would like to use a keyboard for your extra practice.
