This activity introduces an unusual way of spelling the long vowel sound we hear at the end of the word high. We will be looking at the high buildings in Glasgow and comparing them to the height of Ben Nevis. We then explore the other 1 syllable words that use this spelling and build them into a spelling story that helps us to remember when to use the 'igh' spelling.
We then explore a strategy for remembering how to spell the word height.
