Other endings for the sound /k/ at the end of a word

The letters c and k are never doubled at the end of a word,  we don't see -cc   or -kk, instead they stick together as - ck to make that final /k/ sound at the end of a word...

UNLESS:

-  it is a multi syllabic word, such as magic - we use the letter c spelling choice.

-  there is a consonant letter immediately before the final /k/ sound, such as milk -  we use the letter k spelling choice.

For more information on this see 'Spelling Patterns' in the Spelling Section.
