This activity introduces the suffix -es that is used instead of suffix -s in words that have a hissing sound like ‘ss’.  It is also used for some of the commonly used words that end in the letter ‘o’.

Some of the words we cover will be included in dictation sentences.  You may want to take a break before you write the sentences, or between the sentences.  They build into a short story called Ted Scoots Past.  Long vowel sounds are not included in these words and sentences.
