Strategies for reading and spelling words with more than one syllable are included in this video.  At this stage only one syllable splitting pattern is considered – other patterns will be included as the lessons progress.

Please use ‘emoji stories’ and home-made booklets for reading and for additional practice of writing sentences.  As we cover more words, you will be able to make more booklets.

This video includes all the speech sound to letter links that are in the first Building Speed activity as well as the long vowel.  You can choose to do both or just this one.

Once you have the first written set of letters from watching the film, you can go over these letter-sound links again and again by asking someone else to say the sounds to you.  Remember – an automatic response to the sounds frees up brain space for the words you want to write.
